Gene, I agree with you, but also think sometimes with new members they arent even really sure how much they are getting into collecting. I think most will take baby steps. I would think (if they are like I was) that once they get into it, they realize how great the hobby is, and how great so many of our fellow collectors are. Once that happens they're hooked.

It may not be that they are too cheap, but rather that they may not want to jump in with both feet right from the start.

I do agree with you that chapter members should definately be a CC&GTCC member too. Maybe the chapter members could have a sponsorship for the first year, or subsodize by hald the dues for the first year.
