and all IS well
Found a new job immediately (which is hard in a small town).
Close to home (mile and a half away)
Casual, secure (of course, after 13 years with last employer... what's "secure"? ) but less money
My new boss commented that his (former) bookkeeper thought I was "overqualified" for position he was hiring. I responded solemnly, "Perhaps... but not nearly as over-qualified as I am at Dairy Queen." I started the following Monday.
I was the Controller for a commercial builder that ran out of money when he shifted from service to sales last May. When I left (in September) everything was in collections.
And "everything" was in my name (not everything - but LOTS of things... and I was an Officer of one of the corporations)
But the new job is great. and the pay is fair Better than I hoped for the size of contractor and this area. It's "just less" money than I was making with Hall
Of course, "less" also means "less" liability, less stress, less authority, less problems, "less" corporations, less manipulation, "less" redefining accountable expenses to avoid taxation.
So "less money" means "more
May every Chipper find chips in their Christmas stockings!
