just wondering, what is the total savings by doing away with the envelopes on the bulk mailing of the magazine? For our membership dues, the only thing we get for it is 4 magazines a year and now it looks like we have to be concerned about getting them all messed up in the mail. At one time, our dues included admission to the convention floor and a cocktail hour and presentations, etc. Now we are charged for those. The last time I looked at the club treasury's balance, the club did not seem to be in dire need of funds. We get 4 magazines a year, not monthly, and now the envelopes are eliminated and we have to be concerned that the magazines will arrive in perfect condition. I get a lot of subscription magazines monthly for $10 or $12 a year and many times they are torn or bent covers and pages. But for $1 or less a copy, who can complain? I believe that penny pinching can go a little too far at times and this seems to me to be one of those times. When the time comes that the club is in dire need of funds, I will then change of mind, I do not believe that the time is now.
