I may be wrong as I am not really that familiar with sorting equipment. I can see how a token or coin shipped in such a way, folded in cardboard and inserted in a standard business envelope could be OK. I recall leaving my keys at home once, when in college. My brother mailed them back to me. He took them off the ring, dissassembled the key ring and taped all the pieces flat to a piece of cardboard and put that into a business envelope. Everything arrived fine. However, wouldn't it still be risky with a chip that might be made out of a clay composite that could crack, crumble or get pulverized if sent without some appropriate padding? Just wondering. Of course, there are some resin or plastic chips that might hold up OK but I am unsure of your standard casino chip.
