I had the same problem trying to pay for auctions. I ended up signing out of eBay and going into PayPal directly. This has been occurring on and off for the past week or so. I paid for two auctions last week and they show up as paid on my eBay but I never received PayPal receipts for them like my other auctions. The important thing is the seller confirmed receipt of the payments. They also listed my address as "unconfirmed" and when I tried changing the status it kept reverting. I know how you feel...
