Re: Altering Dice
In Response To: Altering Dice ()

Hi Barry,

I do use crayons, as Jeff suggested, to restore the logos on our dice. I don't like the looks of just a white crayon in most cases, so I use a little white, then a little tan, sometimes a little gray or yellow to get a shade that looks "natural" to me. It never occurred to me to keep track of which dice I've "restored" sad .

One good thing about using crayons, a little goo-gone will remove it. Personally, I wouldn't use paint or white out, which would probably be permanent.

I use a clear coat on dice that are starting to crystallize. Do NOT use a clear coat on dice that are "imploding" or "shrinking" or whatever you want to call it...the ones with "vinegar syndrome". They'll just get sticky. At least that's what happened on the one pair that I tried it with. YUK! sad Sticky AND smell like vinegar!

BTW: I'm against filling cancelation drill holes in chips, I'm also against filling cancelation drill holes in dice. However, if an inlay fell off of a chip I'd probably glue it back on.
