Rooster & I visited our friend again earlier this week. This guy has some of the weirdest and coolest stuff in the world! This barber chair is in his living room opposite his Dodgem Car. It probably dates from the turn of the 19th century. The original leather was beyond salvage so he had it reupholstered. You would have to see it "in person", but the color of the fabric really works. These old chairs are real chrome and heavily enamaled steel. (The small chrome piece by the Kid's right hand is the holder for the razor strop which was removed for his visit. He likes to try to eat it. ) The base is filled with oil to operate the hydraulics that allow the chair to be raised & lowered. I helped him move the chair from another room. One of the heaviest pieces I've ever moved. The slot machine in the photo is real. Dispenses a gumball with every penny.
