Re: That would be...

Dave who got me started. Blame Dave! vbg I'm already up to 10 of them. Don't expect the number to grow fast after the first common group.

But there are more and I'm having fun.

Yes I started a website and BB. The BB crashed already, probably something I did as usual. I'm about ready to throw the whole thing away and start over.

I started a gallery of Encased Coins, one for mine, one for others casino, one for general encased.

I already paid too much for some, but also got some for nothing, so it's balancing out. I traded a chip for a couple and now along with Elko, and Wisconsin I have to check eBay for encased cents.

One guy who has been collecting these for years, offered to sell me his duplicates for $2 each, so that tells you something about value. On eBay they go for under $10 + shipping. More like $3-6 which leads me to think I can do better by checking out all the local coin shops.

Another long time collector and guide author says "There's no secondary market" which is good news to me. It means speculators will not be driving up prices as an investment. It also means that your "rare" lucky penny keychain has limited appeal, so you won't be getting rich on resale.

In case you wondered, one guide lists over 5,000 different lucky keychains, encased cents... whatever they are and he only collects One State!

In the future I hope to get information from Dave and get a general known Casino Encased list with estimate of rarity. (no price guide) Hopefully as people see it they can make corrections and add their experience with the various Casino Encased Cents, or CEC.
