Coming to a cable MSO, perhaps near you, sometime late this year is the Casino & Gambling TV network (CGTV), headed up by Nickolas Rhodes, President/CEO based in LA, David Hawk, co-Chairman, and William Keenan, CFO/COO. The net plans several programs about gambling, casinos, gaming, all targeting young men, but there will be no actually betting on this network. The reason is simple - depending on what state you're in, the laws change as to legalized gambling. So what do you do on a cable network all about gambling, where you can't gamble? You teach people to gamble smarter (CGTV University), you show the ins and outs of a great poker hand (Winning Hand), you feature the hottest gaming spots around the world (Dusk til Dawn) and you don't ignore the nightclub's hottest performers (Entertainment Insider). CGTV has not announced any carriage deals thus far, tho reportedly is planning on offering the channel to cable ops free of charge, before requesting its $.06 o $.08 cents per sub fee.
