Another idea is to wear a money belt which is strapped around your lower chest/upper waist. I would add these few suggestions when using a money belt:
1. use it mainly when traveling (arriving; departing). Other times use the hotel safe deposit box.
2. put in the "belt" only the extra cash/valuables that you are pretty sure you will not have to go into that day. Silly to constantly go into the belt all day.
3. in addition to using the strap that comes with the belt, pin the main compartment to your undershirt.
