Through a family associate [Bauer], what we see within the filigree on the inlay is the back of Bauer's personalized playing cards (JSB). What I do not know, is the significance of the crossed torches. If this helps any: The Bauer family were Jews that migrated from Germany in the early part of this century. Their years as a family and businesses were highly respected throught their community. It's just that little Joey liked a different type of action with a differnt type of guys!
