I got the whole idea about "look it up" from Mrs Greewold in the 1st-Grade. This wonderful woman would say: "If I told you what a Crest & Seal was <g> you would forget in two minutes, but if you 'look it up' you would remember for ever."

To quote Howdy Herz, in "Guide To Collecting Gaming Checks & Chips," A plain clay check with an inlay was offered by various distributors as a "Crest & Seal" check. These do not have a mold design but are a composition check."

The largest manufacturer of Crest & Seal chips was US Playing Card Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio. Their "Special Order" chips (made from 1911 to 1938 - thousands of chips) are on display at their museum.
