Wow, nifty pic Mark, thank you for posting it! Some very scarce chips from that place. Must have been heck delivering the mail in Ely, seems everyone had the same address. After going cross-eyed looking at pc's, TCR, Fuller's ...Guide and issue #24 of Saito's Chip Chat I find that Alpine, The Owl and the Bank Club had the same address/addresses concurrently! 448 and 450 Aultman St. There was a fire (popular activity in Ely!) in '55 that hit the Capitol Club at 402 and The Owl at 450 Aultman and the Alpine at 448. The postcard I'm showing is postmarked 1955 with the Bank Club ('37-'62) at 448 Aultman and the location matches the pc I have from '49-'50 that shows a different Bank Club sign. I'd wonder if the Alpine was across Aultman or something but the roof lines match to certain extent. Probably the photo was taken pre-55 and that nifty slot machine sign went up shortly befor the fire and I'd say the Alpine Club is there, just lost in the clutter. But then again, note the light pole...shows Owl Club in same storefront as Alpine Club. Next time I'm in Ely, I'll take a look but I bet I find another vacant lot instead of a building.
