Several years ago I read a book with this title, do not recall the author. History and legal buffs should read it! It is a classic and is filled with factual history of US betrayal of Indian treaties. I recommend it highly.
The disposition of the final settlement, Mark refers to as 100m, as a result of the Indians suing the US is quite surprising but understandable from the Indian view point. The clock is still ticking I believe.
I was personally quite appalled at how "we" have treated the Indians since shortly after 1492. I was a little outraged at how the William Randolf Hearst's started their collection of wealth.
I'd be interested to know if Travis Lewin has read that book.
