I had the same trouble in June at the convention, when my (nearly) 3 year old daughter was with us. We found a neat park and playground but I will need to check the map at the weekend to locate it again. I know you took the road that runs due East from the big junction at the bottom of the Stratosphere (where the Strip going north splits away from the road which leads to the Gamblers General store and Downtown), and head East for about 1 mile.

Had slides, swings, play-train that the kids could play in, all in an area with that speacial rubber ground that kids bounce off!!!
