Here's a shortcut I learned only recently. You can type a domain name in the Address box of MS Internet Explorer, hold down the Ctrl Key, and hit enter. The browser will fill in the rest of the URL for you.

Example: Type thechipboard in the Address box, Ctrl Enter and get:

http://thechipboard.com

Only works if the site you want has a .com extension of course, but 90% still do. I have the latest version of IE (6.0) and can't vouch for it working in earlier releases.
