I recently gave up on a trade where I wanted some common (obsolete) $1 chips from Las Vegas. The guy kept telling me how my chips, were not the same value.

Give me a break. A common table chip, that was in play for 10 years and it's worth more than chips from an out of the way small town Nevada?

At least with chips, we have some idea what to offer, but more mystifying is a rummage sale with nothing priced and a big Make an Offer sign. I just leave. I don't want to insult people with my lowball offer and I have no clue if they might think 50c is good, but I say $2.
