As you all may know, Dania, just as many of Florida's pari-mutual betting (trotters, thorough breds, greyhounds) starting having Poker Rooms
about two years ago. Pot limit was $10. They usually offered tables with your choice of 5-
Card Stud, 7-card Stud & Texas Hold-'em.
Usually seven players at the table & house
took the opening $.25 ante. ($1.75 total.) With
the $10. Pot Limit, the house was the only winner. At 7-card Stud, they could deal 35 - 40 hands an hour.(Plus the hand winner usually tipped the dealer.)
Play dropped off to a point you couldn't
find a full table. Rooms just closed for lack
of players.
New state regulations have no pot limit &
limit a bet to $2. At least you won't have three
or four players playing "for free", as the pot had
reached $10.(Pompano Park started 10/10.)
