All of us have noticed lately that there is some "outsider" spam being posted on the bb on occasion. Would you like to help me stop it? If so, here is what you can do.

1) Instead of posting messages below it asking me to remove it, please click on the post, then select and copy the url in your address bar. Send me an email and paste the url into the email. As soon as I get it, I will log on and delete the post.

2) Select and copy the IP address that is part of the message header, then go to:

http://www.arin.net/whois/index.html

and paste the IP address into the "Search For" box. That will identify for you the Internet Service Provider that furnishes the connection for the spammer. Send an email to "abuse@" whatever the ISP's domain name is. For example,

abuse@qwest.net

In the email, tell them the IP address, the time (central time is shown in the message), and date that the message was posted and complain that the person is posting unwanted spam on your bulletin board and ask that they take steps to keep their customer from doing so.

I am keeping track of the IP addresses and whenever I see that they do it more than once with the exact same IP address, I add them to the banned IP address list.
