OK here is my 2 cents worth on the topic.
There been arguments about LE's being good/bad for the hobby.

I'm new too this hobby and love em. BUt i do collect obosolete also.
I like pretty much any chips. I think my new field be old gambling ships.
Like S.S. Rex and stuff i just love the way their chips look.

Anyway I can see how new collectors get in the hobby and get burned out fast.
Because at the moment this hobby is picking up fast. And more and more chips will be found. Several times a month you hear boxes of chips being found that were extremly rare. And the value drops a lot. But eventually with the new collectors comming in it will even out.

Now with LE's you know exactly what is out there. PLus Le's attract a lot of cross collectors too our hobby. They look great and are cheap. And going up more and more in value. PLus I get so many colectors that buy a chip because it has a corvetter on it or a superstar and end up becoming chip collectos because they like them so much. LIke I has a magic guy wanting a Lance Burton chip. Ended up buying 5 of every Magic Chip ever made. That I could find at least.

So i truly believe that eventually the LE's will make this hobby grow.
ut personally I do love eveyr chip and there will be many more new collectors who will feel the same way. So we should not knock LE's. I think no matter what a person collects try too support them someway or somehow. So they feel happy and welcome in this hobby. We all have our own likes. I get guys comming with new $1 stuff and wanting too trade and i still try too help them out if i can.
Even with all the Indian stuff which i do not really care for, but then again too someone else its the greatest thing.

Another thing. This is by memory only so this could be wrong. Sheldon if you read this please reply. Our good friend Sheldon McCormick got into the hobby because of Hard Rock Le's. and now he collects all $1 chips. So that is a new collector from LE's and sheldon is a great guy. I'm glad he is part of this hobby. Also John Yee i believe has a simular story he started with Hard Rock stuff now he collects everything. Myself I started with Hard Rock chips and tried too get all. Then I went too fiesta and saw their chips and bought like $800 worth. Next thing i knew i was addicted :) And then James introduced me too obsoletes and now my house is filled with chips.

Sorry for the long post, but in closing any chip is a good chip. Its up too you if you want in your collection. Myself I can't wait for the Sunset Station Set. A 52 chip set with only 500 made. Should be fun.
