In my opinion, Charles was trying to do a 'FAVOR' to his fellow chippers and give those interested an opportunity to purchase a unique chip.
He did not claim that the chip would be worth 100's of dollars or more, merely made an offer to anyone who was interested.
For that he gets 'beat up' by a group of people on the Board
He's not a dealer, just a 'CHIPPER'
Granted information is the basis of any hobby's development and conflicting opinions should be welcome.
The bottom line is that Charles made an offer, if you are interested, take him up on it, if not don't.
By the way, has anyone noticed that he has wisely stayed out of the chipboard conversation!!!
I just don't think that he should be criticized for setting a price that he and many others feel acceptable and I don't think that he should be told that he overpaid by 2 to 3 times. As I said, he doesn;t make a business out of buying and selling chips.
For disclosure purposes, some of you know, I have a 'selfish best interest' in observing the direction of this topic.
Although I had seriously considered it, I am glad now that I did not follow suit with Charles' gesture and made my Jackpot chips available to the board.
WOW, would that have added 'fuel to the fire'
Just my opinion
