BTW, you used the reverse of a tactic that always works well on The Price is Right (the objective there being one sided, that is, you have to get closest to the correct price without going over, guessing one dollar more than the next highest guess will always win unless your guess is too high).

In our contest, you have effectively preempted everything from 713 down to the number halfway between 713 and the next highest guess.

Unless, of course, someone else guesses 712!
