When scanning chips, especially when you are doing more than one at a time, it is best to put them into a clear holder to keep them properly aligned. I find that the cardboard 2.5" x 2.5" holders with mylar windows work great. Also good are the Cowens plastic pages that can hold up to 30 chips. The plastic in the pages do not distort the images.
