The higher value chips will increase, just like any other collectible. The LEs and more common chips will level off as the hobby matures.
If someone is complaining because they can't get more than $6 for a $5 LE, That's Life. The demand has been outstripped by the casinos who over produced. Manipulated releases, hoarding and contorlled distribution have also hurt the interest.
If you take a look over the years, the majority of older, uncommon chips, have increased in value, due to demand.
Common $1 rack chips have enough people who have them, to make the values consistant, even if the casino closed five years ago. In other words, just because it's obsolete, it doesn't mean the value is up. 1) Everyone already has the chip 2) People took home stacks of them.
