the sands name is used as a generic name. even the way the letters are scripped are the same in the sands motel use. example: there is a sands motel in san bernardino, when your going north, on the 215. take the 5th st off ramp, and as you go around you'll see the wall with sands style motel. NO CONNECTION. note: the venitin holds the name sands in trust, with their "sands expo",convention center.
