Well I arrived at the Sands at about 11:50 - knowing full well that the club chapter meeting began at 11:00. My problem was that no one on the entire proerty could direct me to the Skylight Ballroom. They all told me 3rd floor- but once up on 3, nobody could find it. I walked around for an hour, and then gave up.
OK, so off to some AC poker. I was told the Taj was the place to be. Holy Crap! It seemed like 100 tables -- probably closer to 50 in reality. Every game I could imagine, but for a hold 'em player like me I heard constant openings fro everything from 2-4 to 50-100 games. I sat in at 2-4 and couldn't believe how loose the game was. I played for four straight hours, with the worst cards I've ever had at hold 'em, and still broke even. In fact, I only bought in for a rack of whites, and I never got below half. If I had had cards that bad in Vegas, I would have lasted 90 minutes max, and my rack would have been gone. Easy game, lousy cards.
Then off to The Borgata to buy some chips. The place would be beat out Mandalay and be on par with Bellagio or at least The Venetian if if wasn't stuck in the middle of nowhere with none of the gaudy attractions. Am I the only one who noticed that the slot-to-table-game ratio leans far too much toward slots given that amount of floor space? I was there on a Sunday evening, and the slots were empty while the few table games were full.
Anyway, just my feedback. Hit an accident on the AC Ex[ressway on my way back to Williamstown which made me late for dinner.
See some of you tomorrow.
