Great you wrote exactly what I thought Allan. I feel this for many chips that get called variants. IF the printing on a chip is off center like on a Dunes Sultan $1 where color registration sometimes misses half of the poor guy all together, it is not a variant.
If a reorder is done & the clay for the Dunes guy is darker on some chips & a noticeble lighter on another I list it as a variant.
