It depends. If you travel to Las Vegas on a regular basis (even only a couple times a year) you might be better off establishing a relationship with one or two casinos through their players clubs. My room at the Las Vegas Club during the convention last month was free, based on my play during a four day stay in April, and the last two days of that visit all I played was nickel slots.
If you buy a package deal through a travel agent, when you check out, a casino host can't reduce your hotel bill based on your casino play.
If you don't gamble, those are pretty good deals.
