You are a very sick individual and you should seek some help. Will Knight has not been in the hobby all that much longer than you, and yet he’s gone out of his way to help other newbies and the hobby in general. He’s obviously made a lot of friends and, since I’ve met him in person and consider him one of mine, I can assure you that he’s very sincere. I know for a fact that he tried mightily and with the patience of a saint to help you in particular. After quoting his website with your newly absorbed “knowledge”, you now call him a “kiss-ass.” Not the case, Burt… Will’s clearly the real deal.

You, on the other hand, have become, in just over a month on the board, the most reviled figure ever to post here. You’ve ignored every piece of advice given you by LOTS of respected members of the chipping community, and you’ve seemingly gone out of your way to make enemies with virtually every person with whom you’ve had any business or personal dialogue. In my years of reading the Board, I’ve seen quite a few people take their licks for conduct unbecoming, but nothing like you. I guarantee you, Burt, that you’ll be the subject of conversation here LONG after you’ve gone away.

The fact that you continue to post here is, in my opinion, the most obvious symptom of your psychological problems. I think I can speak for every other reader of The Chip Board when I say that if any of us were publicly eviscerated as you have been, we would leave the board (and most likely the hobby) immediately. That you continue to hang around shows us all that a) you have no concept of how you are perceived by others or b) you are a masochist and just don’t care how you are perceived by others. In either scenario, Mr. Berenson, you should be seeking treatment.

As I’ve posted before, Burt, I believe that you are living in a fantasy world where you see friends and allies here and feel you’re being unfairly persecuted. As you wait for your “supporters” to line up on your behalf, they all wind up stepping forward with more horror stories about their dealings with you. As further evidence of your delusional conduct, I recently received an e-mail thread from a poster on the board here. This fellow has publicly called you every name in the book, yet two days ago you e-mailed him a trade offer. I defy anyone to call that rational behavior.

Although the consensus here is that you’ll go away if you’re ignored, I think that as long as you stick around, people will continue to look at your posts. You’re the train wreck of the board, and everyone will stay tuned in for the next bit of bizarre fantasy that you produce. If being a circus freak suits you, then just continue to post away. Where most everyone else will continue to look and laugh and feel lucky that they’re not you, I am at least showing compassion enough to continue to advise you to seek some professional help.
