I had to laugh out loud when I read Burt's post - he really has no idea what this hobby is about.
And Burt, last time I checked, $400 qualifies as "hundreds". Not to mention that at the convention I spent another $600 or so on another 300 chips.
But what I told you IS true about me having been given lots of "free" chips - in fact, it's a testament to the spirit of this hobby and it's members - something I doubt you'll ever truly experience.
And this hobby teaches you something else Burt - it teaches you to pass the favors you've received onto others. I can say that I'm contributing back to this hobby, Burt. Ask anyone here if you doubt it.
What can you say you've contributed? When was the last time you did something for another member? When was the last time you sent even a single chip to someone as a "welcome"? Please reply, as I'm eager to hear the answer.
