Use some cotton swabs to help get into the grooves & finger nail polish remover. I have done this & works well. It sometimes takes a little elbow grease to get it all out. I know many others do the same on the board.
For my collection, when I get a chip like that, you usually can't see the inlay. So I will only do 1 side of the chip & leave the other side still cancelled.
