Paul-son chips are made in Mexico and have lead powder added to give them extra weight. I'm kind of surprised they sell the ground chips with all the concern of the environmentalists for lead contamination. Anyway, that's why Paul-son chips (and fragments of them) appear black on the security x-rays.
