I had a similar problem at McCarran when I left on Thursday to come back to the UK - they asked to search my bag, found nothing, put it through the x-ray again and said that they could see a large heavy disk - it was the the 3" paperweight brass chip issued by the Stardust with the coupon in the preregistration packs - I told the security guy to expect to see a few more by the end of the weekend!
