Here's something else to consider. I was leaving the Vegas Airport with all my souvenier and trader chips in a plastic baggie. The baggie was in my Carry-On Bookbag. I also had a Standard carry-on. The standard went through just fine, but the Bookbag was pulled as "suspicious."

It seems the chips created an impenetrable mass that confused the x-ray viewers. The officer who was assisting me was very nice though. She kept asking if I could think of what it was, and where to look in the overstuffed bag (as I was not allowed to touch the bag at all). We finally figured out it was the chips, and had a good snicker!

In the end she gave me the option that she would repack my bag as a courtesy, or I could. I told her I would, as she was just doing her job, and there were other folks waiting. She smiled and thanked me.

Anyway...I hope ya'll have a great time at the convention, and bring back lots of good stuff for me to buy!
