Obviously you would like for the information to be known, while many collectors would like to hear it from a recognizable authority.
You make a fine suggest placing an example "into the right hands". I suspect that you may already have someone in mind, but just in case you don't, may I suggest the Club's Claims Director (Jim Pierre). The reason I suggest Jim, is because part of his position is the maintaining of confidentiality of people he deals with. Therefore, you can provide the chip to him, he has the contacts within the Club to have it evaluated and he will maintain your confidentiality.
I suspect also that any Club Officer can do the same, and as well as any Club member that you may already have a personal relationship with.
But the bottom line is, by all means please allow the chip in question to be examined by others.
