At any one time, no two people have the same IP address. Depending on your Internet Service Provider, your IP address is either static (always the same) or dynamic (assigned to you at the time of connection). Most dial up ISPs will assign you a dynamic address from the block of IP addresses that they own. Some will provide you with a static address if you ask. Most cable providers will also supply you with a static address. For example, mine is static. It will always be the same when I log on from any computer in my home. When I am on the road though, I use AOL to access the internet and you will see a variety of different IP addresses on my posts.
