Back when I collected breweriana, I wholeheartedly agreed with Stu, I never bid against friends. After a year or so, in comparing collections, I realized, a couple of my friends had the best stuff. My collection was "incredibly average." As I switched over to chip collecting, I realized, if they really are friends, they won't be upset when I bid what I think it's worth. So far, I'm right.
