He was up against a deadline (which is now expired) for some comments regarding the origin of "blue chips". On this BBS, as well as others, late arrivals will act as though posted messages just showed up, and will respond days and weeks later.

When a response is made, it generates an email message. I think Brendan had his answer and did not want further messages.
