Personally I think the system works just fine.
I've received 2 or 3 items from sellers on that have arrived damaged. Here's where the good Ole Post Office comes into play. If I remember correctly after telling them I received the item and it was damaged { through no fault of there own } 2 out of the 3 replaced the item { which I stressed wasn't necessary }. But I did in fact post positive feedback on them. They received my payment { posted positive feedback on me } and I received the item { even though it was damaged..ah the good Ole P.O. } I posted positive feedback even before I contacted them about the damaged item. It's pretty easy to tell when the P.O. mishandles an item.
Once the payment is mailed ...it's out of my hands. Once the item is mailed ...it's out of the sellers hands.
If the situation ever should arise where a seller negs me for a late payment due to the negligence of the P.O. I would send an e-mail asking why they were in such a rush to neg me. Hopefully they'll try and remedy the situation. After all is said and done { this has never happened to me .. yet } I'll probably { but I'm not 100% certain } post positive feedback. After all if the item is as described ... I'm satisfied.
