I have not heard that the new Pot chips have hit the tables in Milwaukee. I'll ask a regular player again this Sunday.

Madison - Wisconsin's traditionally anti-gambling capital city could find itself host to a full-fledged casino - but that's unlikely unless the Ho-Chunk tribe can convince Madison voters of the wisdom of such a development.

Madison's mayor hates the idea. The Dane County executive is skeptical. Other city leaders say strong majorities of the Common Council and County Board oppose a casino. And Dane County voters overwhelmingly backed a measure to curtail state gambling expansions a decade ago.

The Ho-Chunk Nation would still like to give the idea a try. The tribe's newly signed gambling agreement conditionally authorizes it to turn its DeJope Bingo hall on Madison's southeast edge into a real casino, with slot machines, roulette, craps and virtually any other game.

It appears that even if the referendum says no, DeJope could go casino. The original 1992 compact allowed Ho-Chunk the right to open four casinos. They now have three and a bingo hall.

Large political contributions have been made to the Wisconsin Democrats, but Madison seems to be anti-casino...
