Hi Gene ----- sorry to say you are wrong on this one. I stopped collecting baseball cards for exactly the reason mentioned by Don and it had absolutely nothing to do with cash. Ultimately, I sold most of my cards, but not until they had sat in my closet for about 10 years after I stopped collecting. (Actually, I traded some of them for casino chips, too ---- Nolan Ryan and Mickey Mantle BB cards for Playboy and other A.C. chips ----- we were both happy!)
Also sold most of my coins, but still have a fairly large collection of stamps and first day covers (mostly from the late '60's and early '70's). One of these days, I'll get around to selling them, too (maybe on eBay). Unless, of course, I can find someone who's willing to trade casino chips for them! [g]
