Yes Don, I have two (oops, three) different versions of the Main St Station without the name of the hotel printed above the "Players Gold" logo. All of these versions have the three places printed in the backround in the faint printing, but...
Version One (got in March of '97) Card is an orange-gold with backround printing in orange. On Back: wide magnetic strip and no space between strip and first row of text. Of the three phone numbers, Administration ends 0711, Reservations ends 6255. Pre-punched small hole in lower right corner. On this type, the bottom three lines of text on the back is compressed to leave room on the left (looking at the back) for the hole.
Version One-A (date ?) Just like version one, but it did not come with a pre-punched hole, and they added a hole when the card was issued. On this type, the bottom three lines of text on the back are not compressed and go the length of the card.
Version Two (got yesterday) Card is more a tan gold color with the backround names in a very pale tan that hardly stands out at all. Small, pre-punched hole. On Back: narrower magnetic strip has a white space almost as wide as the strip between the magnetic and the text. Of the three phone numbers, Administration ends 8933, Reservations ends 0711. (Both cards have the same number for the first one.)
Version Three (date?) this is the type with the "Main Street Station" printed above the "Players Gold" logo in the same color. Backround names more readable. Small, pre-punched hole. On Back: narrower magnetic strip and print layout as in version Two, but phone numbers are the same as Version 1 and 1A. Of the three lines of text on the bottom, only two lines are there, ending in mid sentence with "to alter or cancel this program at..."
Ok, having listed the properties for the four types (I thought I had three until I looked real close as I was writing up these descriptions) I think they cames out as follows: type 1A, 1, 3 and 2. This makes sense except I can't see why they would correct the problem of not listing the hotel name on the front, and then redo it the old way. Unless they had version 1A to open, re-ordered version 1 to put the holes in at the printer, corrected the missing name for the next batch (version 3) and when they ordered again, accidentally went back to not having the hotel name on the front. (version 2)
This make any sense to you, Don? If not, sorry I rambled on so long. Makes me wish I had a scanner, but then If I did I would have to figure out how to get the scans on the BBS. I have one version 1 and two version 2 in my name, and found one version 1A and three version 3 during a brief harvesting walk through the casino last week.
