The "special" is not on the menu, although it is usually advertised on the marquee. If you simply order the prime rib (or steak & eggs), you may end up paying the menu price.
I have stayed there 5 or 6 times and have found that in the case of the Hotel San Remo, Smaller IS Friendlier.
