While I would not be able to afford to buy 500 or 1,000 $5 chips, I do feel that if I wanted to do so I SHOULD have every right to do that! The word is COMPETITION. It is part of the business world, the sports world, the REAL WORLD and the chip world. In case you haven't checked lately this has ceased being a hobby!!!! People are SELLING chips as well as trading. If I come to Vegas, I get there once a year, and I have the money to buy 20 Grand Opening chips why should I not get to buy those? If someone gets there before me and has enough money to buy those chips, it's life in the big city! I will have to seak out that person and buy from him/her.
If this was a perfect world and EVERYBODY collected chips and ONLY traded them I could follow your logic. IT is not, survival of the fittest!!! To say one individual has set the chipping world back is too harsh! It is not one individual. Wanting something of value brings on competition, it also brings out the wolves! We just need to be intelligent and not let them eat us up!!!!
