Dick,
My first time ever in Las Vegas (in 1983) I stayed at the Sundance. The charge was $18 a night for two of us, nine whole dollars a piece. Times have changed. That was fresh off the street, with no play, no rating - nothing - just the standard room rate. And we were in a high rise with a beautiful view for that price. I couldn't believe it.
When I lost my whole bankroll the first day playing pot-limit Omaha up the street at the Union Plaza, I couldn't believe that either. But I had a few Sundance and Union Plaza chips to show for it.
I loved that old Sundance. I've never been in it since it became Fitzgerald's.
