Johnny Moss, the grand old man of poker, was a tough act to follow. There will never be another like him.
I know dealers that was fired from the Dunes once a week for dealing Johnny out of a big pot. He always relented and took them back the next day (in most cases).
His wife Virgie is the one, you did not want to be fired by. It usually stuck.
I remember one day during the WSOP, I spotted Johnny and a couple other of the big players sitting around a table but not dealing.
(Eskimo had just won the tournament and was at the cage getting paid.)
I asked Johnny, what are you guys going tp play.
Johnny's answer: Anything Eskimo wants to play!
