Hi John,

"That was probably the time you and Katie were playing roulette with those $500 jetons."
That summer is a little fuzzy for me. It was right in the middle of my once-a-month trips to Las Vegas for 18 months in a row. I do know that the time I staked Katie with a $500 jeton was during the convention in July that year. I asked the pit boss to track her play on my players card, so with the both of us playng that night, my stock definitely went up with the marketing department. It was the next month that I received the unexpected room upgrade.
....gawd I miss the French roulette table at the Paris. My best ever session at that wheel was winning more than $4000 in about two hours. The table staff enjoyed it too because I tip pretty good when I'm winning. One other particularilly memorable night at that wheel....I was having a good session, up a couple grand, betting $250-$300 a spin. A Prince from the United Arab Emirates was also playing. He was betting $10000-$15000 a spin. I felt like I was pitching pennies compared to him. ...but I was having some success. He started betting the opposite of me in the column bets. I was betting the middle column (always do, that's where my favorite numbers are) to the tune of $2000 on each of the other two columns. He lost three spins in a row (meaning I won three spins in a row, plus hit straight up on two out of three spins) on the column bets and he walked away from the table an unhappy camper. The dood should have betting with me, not against me!
