Hi Mike ----- it is my belief that IF AN ITEM IS ACCURATELY DESCRIBED, the price at which it is sold (or the eBay reserve or minimum bid) is a matter between the seller and the buyer or bidder and I stay out. I intervene only if the lot is inaccurately described, creating a false, misleading or possibly fraudulent situation. Generally, I try to be polite; have had a few occasions where the initial responses from the sellers have motivated me to be less than polite in follow up messages (I'm neither as patient nor as temperate as Travis Lewin [g]).
By disregarding price as a ethical consideration, I also avoid the problem you have raised regarding prices which are too low. Once again, a matter strictly between buyer and seller. Some might consider this too easy an answer, but it does create what lawyers sometimes call a Bright Line rule; that is, one which is easy to see and apply. ----- jim o\-S
