I grew up near Findlay and went to college at Bowling Green, (Go Falcons!) so I grew up watching Toledo television. (Remember Orris Tabner?) Anyhow, channel 13 brought in this real home run hitter of a news anchor named Randy Price from Boston I believe. After a few months or so, all of a sudden, one day with no warning, Randy is gone and a very obviously green Jerry Anderson is doing the news.

Now, the story I heard was that Channel 13 found out that Randy was seen frequenting gay bars and worried that their blue-collar town's audience wasn't ready for that, so they canned Randy and put Jerry on because...

... they thought he'd look like Randy and no one would notice!

Not sure if that's true, but you've got to love the humor of the idea "Hey, let's put this kid on. He kinda looks like Randy."
