Gene,
I am continuously mystified by some of your statements. You stated:
"The only plan you had was to introduce slabbing into our hobby."
This statement only goes to further demonstrate that you are out of touch with reality. And that you only want to personally attack me.
Let me tell you a little about myself that you either do not know or choose to ignore. I am a chip collector. I started collecting almost 10 years ago. In that time, I have NEVER sold or traded a chip from my collection. Nor do I have any plans to do so. All that I am interested in is adding to my collection. For your information, I collect $25 and 25 cent chips from all over Nevada and I collect chips from what I call "Clark County, outside of Las Vegas." This means that I collect all chips from Clark County except those that are from Las Vegas. I also collect Atlantic City chips. (Let me make a plug ) If you or anyone else have anything that you think I might be interested in, please let me know.
Four years ago, I was asked by David Sarles and Janice O'Neal to run for Treasurer. I agreed and served in that position for two years. I then felt that I could help the club further by running for President. The membership agreed and elected me in favor of two other very fine candidates. I'm not and have never been a chip dealer. I sell very few chips and would always prefer to trade. In the past I have shared a table at the convention but did not do so while serving as an Officer. Since I am a collector, there is no incentive for me to have prices forced higher.
To follow your reasoning, four years ago I took on the Treasurer post so that I would be in a position to be elected President so that I could "introduce slabbing into the hobby."
I am again asking you to explain your statement. It is totally without foundation. And when you do explain it, please don't hide behind some unnamed sources.
BTW, these snow days are great. Besides shoveling snow, I get to spend the entire day on the computer.
Nate
